Shenandoah Resident Scholarship Application Period and Deadline 2021-02-01T08:00:00The Shenandoah Resident Scholarship is open to all high school seniors who live in Shenandoah. The total scholarship award(s) is a minimum of $2,000 and the winner(s) will be selected by a committee of the Shenandoah Civic Club based on completion of an essay.
Requirements: (incomplete packet will not be considered).
Two-part essay
Part I: 500-1000 word essay explaining thoughts on volunteerism and the long-term and short-term benefits to the community.
Part II: 250-500 word essay- "Where do you see yourself in 20 years?"
PLUS
1. Letter of recommendation from a school faculty member, coach, minister or community leader.
2. College or trade-school acceptance letter.

Spring Community Garage Sale 2021-03-13T08:00:00Join the fun and make some money for the holidays. Sponsored by the Shenandoah Civic Club, this event is held twice annually, usually in March and October. NOTE: Shenandoah residents only may sell.
For those of you who live in communities that do not allow garage sales, you may set up at the pool parking lot SATURDAY ONLY. You need to be set up by 8 am and be taken down by 4 pm. You must register with Ms. Quinn below.
You must register to participate. Contact Chair Gwen Quinn to register, for signs and for details.

Easter Egg Hunt 2021-03-20T10:00:00SHENANDOAH RESIDENTS ONLY --- Join the Civic Club as they host the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Shenandoah children. Enjoy refreshments, Bunny and Me pictures (take your own with cell phone) and a rousing egg hunt sure to make you smile.
NOTE: Egg hunt is the first event and goes VERY quickly. Six divisions: Gentle Touch (special needs and 0-2), 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-14 .
Be there by 9:45 am to be ready for the hunt at 10 am.
Please bring a basket or container for each participant.

Spring Trash Bash2021-03-27T08:00:00The next Trash Bash will be on Saturday, March 27, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Public Works Building.
The City will provide disposal of large unwanted household items, along with household hazardous waste disposal, green waste recycling (branches up to 6” diameter, leaves, yard waste), electronic and metal scrap recycling and reuse, and other standard recycling services (paper, plastic, aluminum, steel, etc.).
There will be no additional fee for any of these services.
A shredding company will be on-site to handle the destruction of paper documents. Residents bringing documents for shredding will be able to observe the process while they wait to ensure that all papers are fully destroyed.
NOTE: This is for City of Shenandoah residents only; identification will be checked. Ending time will depend on the filling up of the rolling bins; when they are filled, it's over even if before noon. Come early and be sure
